Why people hate Nightwing/robin?

I think it's hard for them to put him in the storyline for the new Batman movies. I don't hate his character in the comics though he is an essential part of many of DC comics and Nightwing is the best team leader the Teen Titans and the Outsiders have ever had. He is also rumored to be the next in line to take over as Batman because of the storyline Batman R.I.P. People shouldn't hate him if they have actually ever followed any of the Batman comic book series.
