Are Nissan Skylines good cars, and are they street legal in the US?

They are pretty awesome cars but very expansive to have here in the US. No matter what any shop claims about legality, the only federally legal ones are the ones imported by MOTOREX before they were shut down, and older ones that are over 25 years old. Anything else may have a state registration but are not federally legal and can be taken away. And I have been hearing people having them confied so it happens. R33's are still legal for import if it has a production date after a certain month in 96 so it has a penger airbag. It is very expensive to do though because once it's in the US, it has to have a list of modifications to meet US crash laws and emissions laws. Only a couple places know how to do that so they charge a ton.
