Is oxalic acid soluble in hexane?

oxalic acid is not soluble in hexane due to the large difference in polarity. hexane is a straight carbon chain with very little polarity. oxalic acid has 2 OH groups and 2 carbonyl groups that cause the molecule to be polar. In general with solubilities stick to the mantra that like dissolves like. A polar solvent would be required to dissolve a polar acid like oxalic acid. Hexane's lack of polar functional groups means it won'e dissolve oxalic acid
