Why are the Greek philosophical writings so much more uplifting then the bible and the quran for mankind?

How much further would mankind have advanced if the great intellectual works of the Greeks in the fields of logic, science, mathematics, and philosophy hadn't been superseded and suppressed for so long by these privative middle eastern writings and the backward leaning religions that they spawned?
