We work in a medical facility. I disagreed with my supervisor when he said that doctors have a right to treat everyone else as "beneath" them because they were trained to do that in medical school, to take charge and delegate authority. Why do so many parents let thier kids misbehave in resturants?

Why is it that soooo many parents will just chose to ignore the annoying behavior that their child/children are displaying? I understand that when a toddler throws a fit, the best way to combat it is to ignore it. But why must they ignore it IN the resturant? When my daughter reaches that age I will remove her from the building and let her throw a fit either outside or in the car. If that means that I spend the rest of my meal in the car with her just so other paying customers can eat peacefully then I will. At certain places it is more expected then other. Our apartment has a fireplace with a chimney and everything.?

Im not sure how to tell if we can use fire logs inside of it. there is copper piping coming in from the back where someone had propane fire logs in it but at the end someone cut up the copper and wrapped it up so noone could use it.. there are burn marks on the back side of the fire place where it looks a very hot flame was in there. Why am i feeling like i do?

I've actually had this lately too. No appetite, mild insomnia, both problems that I've never had before. I suspect the appetite at least is just the summer heat. The humidity makes me feel full and nauseous, also sluggish. Summer is less busy for me, so I tend to get restless, which I think is why I'm not sleeping. Keep an eye on it, but you may just have a case of the summer doldrums too.

Sickness affecting relationship with parents. Advice?

So, at random guess, I'd say about six months ago, I began to have constant nausea and lightheadedness. We (my parents and I) made a couple visits to our family doctor. He thought the symptoms may be caused by stress, so he taught me a couple exercises which he thought could help. I tried them and they didn't help. Went back to Dr. J, who put me on some samples of Protonix, and sent me to get some blood work done. The blood work showed nothing out of the ordinary, besides a small touch of dehydration. The protonix worked for a little while, then stopped altogether, and I was getting no relief with my constant nausea. Over the next few months, my meds were switched from Protonix to Omeprazole, from Omeprazole back to protonix, from protonix to Ranitidine, from Ranitidine back to Protonix. Nothing is giving me any relief from the constant nausea. I've tried everything from exercises to drinking nothing but ginger ale. The stress from me being sick is really.....

Help! after my ex b/f and broke up I found out I was pregnant but I gave him the new I had a miscarrage?

Two weeks after we made up he called & broke wtih me saying that ever since he came back from the war in Irag he was not the same man anymore & that He does weird corky things for that reason. 3 weeks after we broke up he texts me wanting to come over my house & when I asked why he replied "no reason". At that point I had just found I was pregnant with his child & was so heart broken...I did not believe the nerve he had to text for a call & i am crying my self to sleep every night because of him so I told to go to hell. A couple of weeks later I text that I was pregnant & he replied days later telling me that we needed to set a time to talk. The day I was supposed to meet him I had a miscarriage... at that point things could not get any worth but they did. So I never told him about the miscarriage and met him a couple weeks later & showed him a copy of my blood work from my Doctor showing that I was pregnant. And to my big surprise He told me that he had a Vasectomy which I know for sure because he wanted me on birth control so I wont get pregnant. at that moment I was in shock & in tears I did not say anything to him Except that he is even a lesser of a man that I thought he was.. Dog having trouble closing mouth?

My 3 year old beagle is having trouble closing his mouth. It is kind of like his jaw locks when he is trying to close it. We went to the vet this morning and he just thought he was having trouble due to inflammation with his allergies. He takes medication twice a day for allergies. We were send home with a medicine for inflammation and nothing else. He is very lethargic and has one runny eye. He was not running a fever as of this morning. Am I just being paranoid or should I get a second opinion? Any ideas of what it could be other than allergies. I know I am not giving the medicine a chance but my dogs are members of our family and I would hate for this to be something worse. When my mastiff was sick last year we went to the vet three separate times and ended up going to a new vet before they figured out what was actually wrong. Is tank too small?

I went to Petco and had the "expert" there help me put together an aquarium. With his help I purchased a 5 gallon aquarium with a filter system, 2 2 inch Golfish, 1 3/4 inch goldfish, & 2 algae eaters about 1 inch each. I have an air pump hooked to a decoration in the tank and used jugged distilled water to fill the tank. Now everyone on here is saying I have too many fish and that my algae eaters will starve. Petco boy said they would eat what the goldfish do. Who's right?

Bladder problem after hysterectomy .. I think?

You could still have some swelling related to your surgery which would not give you the normal sensation you feel when you have to urinate. It is very possible though that you have a urinary tract infection, especially if you had a catheter immediately after surgery. I'd recommend calling your doctor just to make sure.

ok, so my boyfriend and I are religious, we are both 24 (of age and where it is healthy) we are obviously not married. We don't have often, but we both agree that we want to wait until we know for sure that we are going to get married, and if we have decided to get married we want to wait until our wedding night. I love him, and I know he loves me but this is something in our lives that we just can't seem to p. Also to those that have things to say that my issue with is that my dad wasn't present in my life is a false accusation. He has ALWAYS been a part of my life. Wisdom teeth surgery?

Okay. I had all four of my wisdom teeth out last monday (a week from yesterday). The bottom two were impacted and surgically removed. I've been in a lot of pain and it hurts badly in my ears. I can't lay flat because the pain is worse. I've spent the last 8 nights in a recliner, still waking up every 2-3 hrs. because of the pain. I didn't think I had dry sockets, because I followed all directions, but now after some internet searching, I think I may. It said you will usually have a horrid taste in your mouth and horrendous breath-which I've had. I thought all of this was a cold (drainage and not eating real foods) Has anyone else had an experience like this? Also, do I have to go back to my surgeon if it is dry sockets? Can they heal on their own? They're feeling better everyday.

Turmeric stain on wooden slab in kitchen?

i use turmeric in my indian cooking. diluted turmeric water got poured on the kitchen slab which is made of wood here. I tried cleaning it the next day, as i was busy with some work. Stain got seeped into the wood. Today when i tried cleaning with soap & lemon juice and scrub, partly stains are gone but some places it still remains. The kitchen slab here i think is a laminate sheet on wooden surface. there are a couple of scrathes because of using the scrubber we use to wash utensils. Is there some paste i can apply to remove the scratches. Some stains are still visible, can i remove it with something without spoiling the wood further? This is a rented house in USA, so want to clear the stains, so that I am not charged a BOMB when i vacate it. Please advise. I saw a few other postings where hydrogen peroxide was suggested. Would it affect the laminate sheet on the wood. Is there any other remedy, please suggest.

The most amazing thing i have never seen in my life?

My work is ociated with east African countries, mostly Kenya and Ethiopia. I just got back from Ethiopia with the weirdest encounter of my life, which changed my previous sympathy for the country. It all started with me and my co-worker as we visited the Lake Tana that’s the origin of Nile River in Ethiopia. There on the lake were these poor Ethiopians trying to fish while we sow one man dropping bunch of fishes, , shrimps and lobsters, etc..back to the lake, I asked him why he was doing that, he looked at me with surprise and asked with broken English what else he could do with them. I told him why couldn’t he eat them or give them to other people, he shouted out, how people could eat such things and left immediately. We were both so surprise, imagine how shrimps and can’t be eaten and the weird part is, they are Ethiopians always suffering with hunger and famine. After we encounter this we tried to show to the local people how to eat, shrimps, and different kinds of fish as they only eat one type of fish , we cooked and tried to give them to taste, some of them were actually vomiting for just watching us eat and none of them dare to try, my friend was laughing at their stupidity but I was actually offended and the worst part is not just sea foods that they don’t know how to eat, we found out there are many types vegetables that they don’t know how to eat specially mushroom they call it “ umbrella of hyena” and children play with is everywhere on the street , but no one use them as food, my general encounter is that poverty is both mental and physical in Ethiopia and they are the poorest and the most proudest people I have ever seen. Can you imagine, they think eating pork is disobeying God? Anyway Kenya is relatively better, actually they are growing economically better than Ethiopians, and they know mushrooms, sea foods and pork are for food. I hate how I don't know what I'm going to make a ceiling fan do by pulling the cord. Will it go faster or slower? I'm already cold, is it slow or is it already off, and if I pull the cord, will it go full blast and freeze me to death!?! I don't know how many speeds it has. Do they all have the same speed or do luxury ceiling fans have like twelve speeds, and do ghetto ceiling fans only have two?? You have to pull the cord and then sit and wait for the fan to "slow down" before knowing if you have to pull the cord again. Ceiling fans do not have brakes, but they should. I want the ceiling fan to come to a screeching halt when I tell it to. Maybe I'll just stick a broom in it next time.

Would they still be ok?

OK I know that pork is OK fresh in the fridge up to 3 days, yesterday I bought pork ribs, today i put them in a brine first thing this morning and put them back in the fridge. I was expecting company but it got postponed a day...would they be OK if I left them in the brine over night or would they be OK? My brine recipe is 2 liters of water, 1/2 cup salt, and 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tsp each in, oregano, and garlic powder. I don't want them to fall apart on me is the only thing. Bay window w/ Tile?

We're remodeling our kitchen, and there's a bay window over the sink. We had planned on installing granite countertops in to the bay window for a seamless finish, but unfortunately the measurements just won't work, since the window was set to the height of the old cabinets/counters (Don't ask me why they did this) and to make it work we'd basically have to raise everything - floor, cabinets and granite by the thickness of the counter. So we thought we'd tile inside of it instead. Does anyone have good how-to's on tiling inside a bay window and/or pictures of a tiled bay window?

Is it harment when you are critized for dressing "too young"?

For two straight years, I have had a comment on my evaluation saying I need to dress more professional. I have spent a considerable amount on a new wardrobe, dress older than my age, yet I am still critized by one individual in a higher position. I found out today that she's upset because I wear jeans and a company t-shirt/sweatshirt on Fridays, even though it has been established to the entire staff that we are allowed to wear this on Fridays. In addition, I was informed that she thinks I dress "too young". She is the only one who has every complained about this and I feel that I am being hared by her. Why do guys brush up against girls?

I am 16. There is a guy in my cl and my teacher igned me to work on a couple projects in cl together. I have a question and am simply looking for advice. My wife and I are in the market for a house, and have been pre-approved with a VA home loan. We are looking in the Havertown,PA area to start off and we think we have a decent property picked out. Initially, the house was on the market for about 245K and has been on the market for over 100 days. The house is now listed at 235K. Considering I would also like the seller to contribute half of the closing costs in a seller's ist (about 5700) our initial offer is 225,750 (this includes the seller's ist as well.) We don't have any property to sell and can move in at the drop of a dime. Is this initial offer a reasonable first offer? Everyone keeps saying that this is a buyer's market, but I believe some of the people that we have talked to (realtors) want to offer the seller's asking price with minimal negotiation. I am white & grew up around a variety of people. My mother loved to see what color suit they would wear to church on Sunday. They wore yellow, red, every color that was the style then....one day before we moved I was outside when a white boy who was always in trouble with the law drove down the street so fast, he stold a car & didn't have his liscence....As this speeding care went down the street the sister of the stylist young church goers had just crossed the street. She ran quick & then noticed that what she hadn't noticed was her little sister who had turned 2 on that day had followed her but didn't make it accross......My husband took a pillow & had it curled up to rest on the other day & this accident was 40 years ago & when I saw that pillow I remembered little Lisa in the street curled up like that pillow.....It has never left my mind nor the love I have for this family & the logical lesson that just because someone is white doesn't mean they can't steal a car & cause pain.....My mother took me to visit the family & they were so beautiful...I remember my mother wanting to make conversation asked about the boys dressing up for church & their mother said "No, not anymore, they won't go to church". So that is maybe what makes me think of how stupid anyone can be if they don't see how we are all in this together. How would we make our 1/48 Architectural Scale model of a House look more realistic?

I have to make a scale model of a house for construction at 1/48 scale. We bought sum stucco/paint from michaels and sum spray adhesive to hold down our driveway and gr. We also cut out the holes in the walls, but we are not sure how to make the windows so that they look realistic. We also need to construct the front door, side door to the garage, and a garage door. We already bought the concrete and roofing needed and we built the walls out of foam board and will be spraying them with the texture in a couple of days. However we still have to make a pool and a pond and need ideas on what types of materials to use for these different things. Thankyou for any help!!

Who is very good at demonology and specifically identifying demons?

I know most don't belief in "paranormal" events but lately ive been trying to find information on a demon but have only found vague similarities....The one im looking for is large about 8 feet tall, has ruby red eyes that stretch across its mive head with pupils that seem like dead void (if that makes any sense), a nose that honestly kinda looks like a squished balloon, a large mouth with fangs that point upwards instead of down, mive horns, and amazing wingspan that seems to originate from its abnormally long arms, it seems to be male and has EXTREME muscle m and tone, its legs look like that of a mive goat with huge hooves, and has sorta ashy red skin that looks kinda like leather left in the sun too long. I don't know this creatures name but would like to, i also don't know if its a personal experience but myself and the person who encountered this creature with me were not able to physically see it but felt it and upon recalling it knew exactly what it looked like somehow and please if you don't believe don't bother to answer and waste my time, i wouldn't ask if some simple minded mockery could dissuade me from this topic. if you do believe and think you have any information that may help such as where its normally sighted, how its summoned, what its sphere of influence is, or especially its name i would like to hear it. Now this is the part where even some believers may laugh at me, i believe this creature managed to enter my home when i watched paranormal activities (yes i know its a staged and fake movie) because both myself and the other viewer felt the creature seemingly come out of the television bounce off the wall as it gained shape and flee into my room where it promptly occupied about half the space of my 8ft by 10 ft room. I know some recognize these beings through presence alone so i can only attempt to describe the feeling it inspired. First of all my dog saw it as well and though this dog would gladly die defending me from bears he growled at the creature, the creature growled back and my dog hid in the farthest corner of the house it could find cowering for probably a good hour even after this entity was gone (to our senses at least) when it growled it sounded like a large earthquake but nothing shook and i live in a place where our largest earthquake was 5.0. In both myself and the other person who was with me, this creature inspired a level of fear i have never experienced before and never wish to again, i didn't feel as if it intended to hurt me yet somehow it terrified me. i didn't know what it was but my first reaction was to get rid of it so myself and the other person salted, saged, and blessed the house immediately which seemingly made it leave....i feel i should also mention that when i say we blessed the house i don't mean the traditional catholic or christian versions as i am not a very big fan of any organized religion, i am spiritual and do believe in conflicting forces of nature but find "good" and "evil" to be relative concepts constructed by humans. on that note the creature i felt may have terrified me but i wouldn't necessarily categorize it as evil.

Muscle twitch in upper abdomen?

Recently I've been having some random muscle twitching in the center of my upper abdomen right below my heart. It mostly occurs when it feels I fully exhaled and am very calm and am in a focus with slow breathing. I'm 19 and in very good health. My only problem is I suffer from anxiety which may be a cause of it. At first I thought the twitching was a palpitation of the heart but it appears to be too low to be a palpitation. It startles me like a palpitation though and keeps me alert. I've had no problems breathing and no others problems. I used to drink a ton of soda and caffeine but am currently on my 4th day of no caffeine at all since caffeine makes my anxiety worse. Does this sound serious or a part of anxiety?

Mysterious chemical-like odor under kitchen sink which can also can be noticed (more subtly) in the kitchen overall. New home purchased 3 months ago. Did some kitchen work...installed new sink, pipes. The odor is definitely not from anything stored under cabinet. It is driving me crazy and I really want to get to the bottom of it.
